![]() ![]() i thought fuel pump but i don’t seem to have a lose in pressure as it starts fine while cold. if it sits more then an hour it cranks fine. on cold start up it cranks fine no issues. its only when hot and sits for some time. i needed to do 2 drive cycles but i had success and passed smog! that car is still having the issue where it has a hesitation to start on the first crank, but cranks fine on the 2nd crank, when the car sits for a about an hour after use. i bought a live scan scan tool and took the car for a new drive cycle. i did some reading and found a weak batt could have cause the sensor to not run. i ended up replacing the throttle body and new battery. i don’t know why it took resetting the computer worked but im guessing it had a check sum error and was stuck. after the cycle the check engine light finally came on. I figured give an update since i got good help here.Īfter sometime, i ended up just resetting the computer by unplugging the batt for an hour. When it gets in closed loop, the O2 sensor and other sensors data take over fuel management. Something is amiss.Īfter initial startup, your car is in open loop, hence probably why the rpms go up and down. I would get a scan tool on it and see what the B1S1 is doing. thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and thank you for the chart. ![]() i dont think they are but im just Joe schmo trying to fix his old car. i dont know if the two are related or not. but the 2nd time start right up like a dream every time. but if i wait say 20 or 30 mins the car will not start on the first crank it tries to crank and putter out. if i start the car back up with in a 10 minute window there are no issues. starts ever time except when driving the car for a period time then turn it off. the car starts fine and idle does seem a bit off, off meaning the rpm rise up and down rappily for about a moment till the car reaches op temp. i do get parts go bad, but it feels like something els is out of wak. ![]() I have head the car over ten years and its always passed smog and iv never had to go through this ever. ![]() the tank was filled to max on the long highway test, however after trying all day today, the tank was between 1/4 and 3/4 still nothing. The oxygen sensor heater does show ready. (note after replacing the o2 sensor closet est to the exhaust manifold, this code has not returned) tech wrote on the paper work o2 sensor (air fuel ratio sensor) no activity detected. continuously monitored system DTCs mode 7. emission-related power train DTC’s Mode 3. i can refere a bit more info from the failed smog paper work as follows : the mill command is off. when they run the obd2 scan, it only show the same one monitor not ready. ![]()
